New CSA: Moonfire Farms -- starting Sept. '09!

Our Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) with TapRoot Farms has gone so well that we are adding a second CSA farm to our roster: please welcome Moonfire Farms from Lower Burlington in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. They specialize in organic and heirloom vegetables, but will be sourcing additional produce from other area farms, and offering $20 shares for 13 weeks, starting this September. A $3 delivery fee applies to baskets picked up in Halifax, so the total cost per share will be $299. Space is limited, so sign up while you still can!
Pickup day will be Wednesdays, 4:00-6:30PM at the Grainery Food Co-op, 2385 Agricola St.
To sign-up for a share or for info call:

Grainery Store Shifts Survey

As you may know, the Grainery recently reduced the number of hours that members are required to work from 8 to 6 per month. As a result, the Grainery is considering changing scheduled shift times at the store to accommodate shifts of different lengths.

Pat, Deb, and Amanda have designed a brief survey to gather feedback from current, past, and future members on preferred lengths of shifts and shift times in order to propose a shift schedule that will accommodate the majority of Grainery members and keep the store open during our posted hours of operation. You can complete the survey online by clicking the link below or by going into the store and filling out a paper copy. It will take 5 minutes at the most. We will be collecting responses up until Friday, June 27th. Thanks for your help!
